THE CLASSIC MEATLOAF VS ITALIAN MEAT LOAF!!

CLASSIC MEATLOAF

Ingredients :

Cooking spray

 1 tablespoon butter

 1 onion, finely chopped

 1 carrot, finely chopped

 1 stalk of celery, finely chopped

 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves, chopped

 Kosher salt

 Freshly ground black pepper

 1 clove of minced garlic

 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

 1 tablespoon tomato paste

 2 pounds ground beef

 1 Cup bread crumbs

 2 large eggs, lightly scrambled

 ½ cup ketchup

 2 tablespoons brown sugar

 Fresh parsley, chopped, to serve

How to make it :

 Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and grease a 9 x 5 ”loaf pan with cooking spray.  In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.  Add onions, carrots and celery.  Season with salt and pepper and cook, keep stirring occasionally, until tender, for 5 minutes.

 Add the thyme and garlic, then continue to cook until fragrant, for one minute.  Turn off the heat then add the Worcestershire sauce and tomato paste and mix well.  Allow the mixture to cool down a little.

In a large bowl, mix the vegetable mixture, ground beef, breadcrumbs and eggs.  Press the mixture into the prepared loaf mould.

 In a small bowl, whisk together the ketchup and brown sugar.

Grease the meat loaf with half of the ketchup mixture and bake in the oven for 45 minutes.  Brush the loaf again with the remaining ketchup mixture, return it to the oven, and bake for another 15-20 minutes, or until the center of the loaf has reached a temperature of 155 degrees.  Leave it to cool down for 15 minutes.

Garnish the face with parsley to serve.

ITALIAN MEAT LOAF

Ingredients :

6 tablespoons oats (soft or rusk)

 6 green olives (roughly chopped for stuffing)

 2 cloves of crushed garlic

 – 2 eggs (fresh)

 2 tablespoons of ground rusk

 3 tablespoons of sunflower oil

 – 2 sweet green peppers (cut for the filling)

 – 1 kilo of minced meat

 1 cup mozzarella cheese

 1/2 cup fresh parsley (chopped)

 1 onion, chopped (for filling)

 – Salt and black pepper

 1/2 cup whole milk

 – 1/2 kilo oriental sausage (cut for stuffing)

How to prepare :

In a deep bowl, put the meat, eggs, yogurt, oats, garlic, salt and pepper and stir well until it becomes a cohesive dough.

Then, in a non-stick bowl, put the oil, add the onion, and stir until it turns yellow.

Then add the pepper and sausage, stir and simmer until the sausage is soft.

Remove from the stove, then add two tablespoons of rusk, olives, cheese, parsley, and stir.

Then, on greased foil paper, spread the minced meat mixture and then place the sausage filling on top.

Then the meat is wrapped in a roll, then we put the roll in a greased mould and put it in the oven at 180 degrees for 45 minutes or so until it becomes cooked.

Leave until it becomes warm, then put it in a serving dish, cut slices and serve with cheese and slices.
